it's been raining so much that it's hard to believe the sun still exists. i know he is there, behind all the clouds. waiting, waiting. is it bad that i don't want him to come out until winter?

Happy Valentines ♥

Tomorrow is Valentines Day and I'm going to celebrate with my friends. If I had a date, this is what I'd wear ...

casual blue

This is probably the only "realistic" outfit, in the way of what I'd actually wear. I never used to like blue at all, but it has really grown on me (as you can obviously see!). I especially love the bag in this outfit, it's perfect. I'd wear this if the date was something generic, like to the movies or to dinner. Though maybe later my date would sing me a song and give me something they had drawn or painted for me.

Unicorn Chasing

This one is definitely my favourite, but it makes me a little sad because gold definitely isn't my colour! I'd probably just look a little silly and washed out wearing all this gold, but maybe if my hair was lighter I'd be able to get away with it. I would wear this outfit on a picnic or on a unicorn finding expedition/date!

sweet valentine

Also a little unrealistic because of the golds, but it just seemed to suit this outfit more than silver! At least I would be able to wear this amount of gold without me fading away behind it all. This date would take place in a used book store, where we would buy books that we think the other would like - books that we liked ourselves, books with pretty covers or obscure titles. We'd spend the afternoon tangled up reading the books together.

I've never really though about what my "dream date" would be before. I'm not sure if any of these are it, but they do sound very sweet and romantic to me! Do you have an idea of your perfect or dream date?

Radical Self Love by Gala Darling

It's no secret that Gala is one of my most favourite people in the world, and now she has given me reason to love her even more. During the month of February we are all going on an amazing journey of RADICAL SELF LOVE, instead of moping about Valentines Day.

What Gala is doing is absolutely, tremendously amazing and I highly, highly HIGHLY recommend jumping on board and giving it a go! Gala is the main reason why I am here today, being happy and confident about my life. She really changed me for the better through her blog, and so, if you are ready to stop feeling sorry for yourself, then this is definitely the next step. Loving and accepting yourself is one of the best things you will ever do in your life. Loving yourself doesn't mean you are "up yourself" or "full of yourself", it just means you love yourself for who you are. You might come across as full of yourself to some, but the people who perceive you in this way don't love themselves like you do. Loving yourself is a gift.

Just click the image above to go straight to the mother post about it all, and remember to keep checking the site (galadarling.com) to look out for updates & new assignments.

the adventures of the outside

I like to explore and discover. Little things can make me smile, like the way the clouds are floating in the sky, or the way the leaves are rustling in the wind. I met a bird named Mister Buttermilk. He hopped from branch to branch, whistling to me all the while. He was very sweet, but I haven't seen him again.
I watched the sun set from my new sitting spot.

But then I went out another day, and I saw a butterfly with a torn wing. It couldn't fly and I felt so sad. Suddenly I had remembered that outside wasn't always as beautiful and happy as I remembered ...

"i want your smile to never fade away"

there once was a girl who sang love songs loudly when nobody was listening. she didn't sing them with anyone in mind. she just sung them because they made her happy.
