Happy Valentines ♥

Tomorrow is Valentines Day and I'm going to celebrate with my friends. If I had a date, this is what I'd wear ...

casual blue

This is probably the only "realistic" outfit, in the way of what I'd actually wear. I never used to like blue at all, but it has really grown on me (as you can obviously see!). I especially love the bag in this outfit, it's perfect. I'd wear this if the date was something generic, like to the movies or to dinner. Though maybe later my date would sing me a song and give me something they had drawn or painted for me.

Unicorn Chasing

This one is definitely my favourite, but it makes me a little sad because gold definitely isn't my colour! I'd probably just look a little silly and washed out wearing all this gold, but maybe if my hair was lighter I'd be able to get away with it. I would wear this outfit on a picnic or on a unicorn finding expedition/date!

sweet valentine

Also a little unrealistic because of the golds, but it just seemed to suit this outfit more than silver! At least I would be able to wear this amount of gold without me fading away behind it all. This date would take place in a used book store, where we would buy books that we think the other would like - books that we liked ourselves, books with pretty covers or obscure titles. We'd spend the afternoon tangled up reading the books together.

I've never really though about what my "dream date" would be before. I'm not sure if any of these are it, but they do sound very sweet and romantic to me! Do you have an idea of your perfect or dream date?

the dolls' theatre

I've been let in on a very special secret and have been invited to ...

I have tickets to a few perfomances, and I want you to come with me! But we are absolutely sworn to secrecy! We cannot tell a soul, especially not any adults. Most adults wouldn't believe in such a thing, and the magic might die.

Here are the tickets, shh! Tonight we are going to see Romeo and Juliet. I also have tickets to see the Swan Lake ballet, so I hope you will come with me to see that too. Remember to sign the back of the ticket - it has a space where you can, to promise that you won't tell anyone!

i have seen art

Today, I visited the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. It was very excellent and I had a great time. I think I am pretty bad at "appreciating" art, but I found everything quite interesting, even if I didn't understand what it was all supposed to mean, hehe.

This piece was really cool, because over the top of the background image, is another image, made of little whipped cream bits, like what you see on sweets decoden!

THIS was definitely my favourite part of the whole gallery!!!! It was this little pink room with shelves full of trinkets and sketch books! The trinkets were all little treasures left by people who had visited, and the sketchbooks all had titles on the front, and you could draw something in them relevant to the title. There was two tables and lots of colouring pencils in the middle so that you could draw what you'd like to! There was all sorts of books like, "My Favourite Food", "My Best Friends", "Home Sweet Home" and heaps heaps heaps more! I drew in quite a few to be honest :P

In fact, this was one of my drawings (I promise I'm better at drawing than that, hehe. I just like drawing with led pencils, I have no confidence if I can't erase!!) I drew this one in the "Who is King?" book. and OF COURSE the first person i thought of was MAX!

and, typically being a huuuuuuge Harry Potter fan, the next person I thought of was Ronald Weasley ;D So I had to put him in too!

I also drew a purple unicorn in "things you might not usually see"! I wish I could usually see them though :C

This is my little trinket that I left in the pink room. It's Piglet! He looks really happy there, I'm sure he'll make good friends with all the other little things left there, or make good use of them!

Eeep, can you see him?!

These rooms looked really nice and fancy, but when you looked closer, it was actually a bit bizarre! There was birds in the wallpaper (pigeons, among others!) and peoples faces on the sauce bottles. Still, it was very beautiful.

This was definitely the most amazing piece at the exhibit. It's a taxidermied deer (or antelope? or elk? i'm not sure, but it was something like a deer!) covered in bubbles. I thiiink the bubbles were made of glass (oh, i don't know much, do i? :P). Really super amazing!

This is a room full of knotted strings tied to the ceiling, in all different lengths. You had to take of your shoes, since once you walk in there it's a bit hard to see anyone else and you don't want to step on someone and hurt them! It was really strange and my friends & I couldn't stop laughing :P That's my friends legs you can see standing there, hehe.

Aaand this was my outfit! I apologize AGAIN for blocking out my face, but I looked really annoyed. Probably because I only had a few minutes to take pictures (AGAIIIN, it's the story of my life!), plus the lighting and settings on my camera were all wrong, since I had no time to fiddle with them. I think I am destined to bad mirror-pictures for the rest of my life ... noooooooo!
Outfit Rundown
Dress: TEMT
Navy Tights: Big W
Shoes: No idea - wanted to wear a different pair that looked much better, but my feet would have diiiied because they are so high and we did lots of walking.
Jewelery: Gifts, Gossip Girl (Big W), Diva & Equip.

My friend said I reminded her of Zooey Deschanel today, hehe. Which I totally thought of her when I saw this dress in the store! But I swear I look nothing like her. She has such big, cute eyes!
So, that was my day! I enjoyed myself very much :D

hello, hello!

These past few days have been half busy, half lazy! In the mornings, I have been rushing around doing lots of things, then in the afternoons I have plenty of time to relax. I still haven't finished my Christmas shopping ... I have two more things I have to buy for my mum. Plus I keep thinking of gift ideas for things I could make for my friends, but I only have one - almost two - days left before the Christmas party at which I'd be giving their presents to them! I always seem to finish something (like a school assignment, for example) to a satisfactory standard, and then at the very last minute I have the BEST idea ever. But by then it's too late. Ah, what can you do though, haha.

I spent way too long watching Gossip Girl yesterd
ay afternoon, and I'm still only halfway through season one. It's such a silly show (my mum hates it!) but I can't help but love it. I think everyone needs drama in their lives, and I'd just prefer my drama to be in a TV show. I love looking at all the fashion and hairstyles, along with the big houses. Jenny is my favourite character, she's so cute and kind of helpless. My younger sister is totally addicted to Gossip Girl, she never stops talking about it! She keeps giving things away for me, so that is why I am trying to quickly watch as many episodes as I can.

I really like Angelic Pretty's 'Dessert Collection' series! It's not normally the kind of AP I like (over the top) but every so often I feel the need to tone it down a little. I have been wanting some more casual Lolita clothes that I can wear on a day-to-day basis. Even though I don't want to wear Lolita every single day, I do want to wear it more often than I currently do, but my wardrobe currently doesn't permit that. Hopefully once I make a few more things, I can wear it more often! Yay!

I have to get busy now! I want to at least try and get a few things made for my friends gifts! After Christmas, I want to write more than just what I have been doing with my days. I am very inspired by the blogs that have articles for self-development and that kind of thing. So, I will try my best to come up with something decent for you to read! Hehehe!

Building Up a World of Magic

This song, when I first heard it, I thought, "wow, I can kind of relate to this!". The song talks about building up a world of magic, because real life is tragic. Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say my real life is tragic, but I do like to imagine and day dream when I don't like where I am or what is happening. I feel like I can build up this whole other world, and I'm only a part of it, and all the things and people that make me upset cannot reach me there.

This state of mind is also something I connect straight to Lolita fashion. Wearing the fashion separates me even more so from the things about society I don't like. In so many ways it's an escape, and a way to say, "I'm nothing like you". (Of course I also wear it because I love it dearly!) So, I find it such a strange coincidence that Hayley is wearing a Lolita dress in this video clip. Yes, I believe it is from Bodyline, but it's one of their better products and it looks really nice on her. It's like they also made the connection from this frame of mind to the fashion - even if they didn't really know about Lolita!

I don't like the sound of burying my castle though.
